Early life and education:
Hillary Diane Rodham was born on October 26, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of Hugh Rodham, a businessman, and Dorothy Howell, a housewife. Hillary has two younger brothers, Hugh and Tony.
Hillary was raised in the Methodist faith. She attended public schools in Park Ridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. As a teenager, she participated in student government and was active in the Methodist youth group. She graduated from Maine East High School in 1965.
Clinton attended Wellesley College, where she majored in political science. She was active in student politics, serving as president of the Wellesley Young Republicans. She also worked as an intern for Republican Senator Barry Goldwater’s unsuccessful presidential campaign in 1964.
