Stefan Persson is a Swedish business magnate. He is the chairman and main shareholder of H&M, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers.
Born in Stockholm, Persson is the son of Olle Persson, who founded H&M in 1947, and his wife Marianne (née Hirschberg). He has three brothers: Karl-Johan, Tom, and Marcus. Persson’s paternal grandfather was the Swedish Olympic Modern pentathlete Erik Persson.
Persson joined the board of directors of H&M in 1982, and became its chairman in 1998.
