    Armando Christian Pérez was born on January 15, 1981, in Miami, Florida, to Cuban expatriates. His mother, Alysha Acosta, is a Cuban-American singer. His father, Armando Pérez, was a Cuban migrant. He has two siblings, a sister named Alaina and a brother named Arem. His parents divorced when he was young and he was raised by his mother; he spent time with a foster family in Roswell, Georgia, when he was seven. Alysha and Armando Pérez divorced in 2001.
