    Patrick Mahomes II was born in Tyler, Texas on September 17, 1995. His mother Randi Mahomes was a basketball player and track athlete at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. His father Pat Mahomes Sr. was a Major League Baseball pitcher for 11 years. Pat taught Patrick how to throw a baseball from an early age and the two trained constantly. From a young age, Mahomes displayed a passion for sports and a knack for leadership among his peers.

    Mahomes attended Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. While at Whitehouse, Mahomes excelled as a three-sport athlete in baseball, basketball, and football. Mahomes was an all-state selection for football and was rated as one of the top high school quarterbacks in the nation. His success earned him a scholarship to Texas Tech University.
