    Hart was born on July 6, 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Nancy Hart (née Smith), a teacher, and Henry Witherspoon, a drug addict. His father was mostly absent from his life. Hart has one older brother, Robert. After his parents divorced when he was young, Hart and his brother were raised by their mother.
