In 2016, Gadot was ranked as one of the world’s 50 most influential Jews by The Jerusalem Post.

Gal Gadot was born in Rosh Ha’ayin, Israel, to a Jewish family. Her father, Michael Gadot, is an engineer, and her mother, Irit Gadot, is a teacher. She has two sisters, one older than her and one younger. Gadot has said that she was brought up in a “very Jewish, Israeli family”.
Gadot began studying ballet at the age of four. She also practiced tap-dancing. Gadot completed high school in 2004 and then served two years in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat instructor. Gadot has said that she “really loves” the IDF and that she was “proud to be Israeli.”

After serving in the IDF, Gadot studied law. She began her acting career in an episode of the Israeli television show Bubot, and later had roles in the Israeli movies Date Night and Above the Law.
In 2009, Gadot played Gisele Yashar in the action movie Fast & Furious. She reprised her role in the sequels Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), and Furious 7 (2015).
In 2016, Gadot played the role of Wonder Woman in the superhero movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Gadot will also appear as Wonder Woman in the movies Justice League (2017) and Wonder Woman (2017).
In 2018, Gadot will star in the action thriller film Triple Frontier, and the historical drama film My Dearest Fidel.
